A Testimony from Marc

I would like to comment on how the  Benn Partnership Centre has given me the direction to achieve my potential.

My name is Marc Thurkettle, I'm a 28 year old from Rugby. I was working for different agencies doing various warehouse work and not having a lot of stability, there seemed to be no full time work in the industry. I was given a leaflet by the Job Centre about the Benn Partnership.

As soon as I had walked through the door the volunteers were on hand to help me in any way they could, whether it was helping me do my C.V., or showing me the place to look online to find a job.

I was asked  what my passion was, I explained how I had a love for food. My mentor quickly started to look for options for me. As I had limited experience in this area and I didn't know how to take the first steps this was a great help. My mentor got in touch with Stratford Upon-Avon College and organized a meeting with a tutor for me, when we met he explained that I had options and gave me some invaluable advice on how to take the next step.

I could attend the Benn Partnership Work Club three times a week to help me search for work and send my C.V. to as many places I could as well as get advice and support and the friendliest atmosphere from all of the volunteers.

I have recently had a job interview at the Stratford Manor Hotel, which has put me on a new exciting path. Without my mentor, who never had to put in all the hard work helping me but did, is a testament to the importance of the Benn Partnership Centre. The Job Centre really should be doing more to promote a place as wonderful as this.

I would like to thank all of the volunteers for the fantastic work they are doing and wish the Benn Partnership all the best in the future
