Starting off at the end of Ashman Avenue in Lawford, we took the path across the fields to the ford at Little Lawford.
As you all know, it was hot again today. It was over 25 degrees this morning and the sun was baking. Even the sheep had to shelter:
However, the humans were intrepid and carried on. The promise of paddling was enough to keep us all going. Or was it?
After walking to the ford, the ultimate chance to get cool presented itself: The River Avon, up to 4 feet deep in places! However, only our intrepid photographer (in up to his knees) and one of our younger members (who really seized the opportunity!) were brave enough to enter the water. Oh, it was so cold, so refreshing, so beautiful. Why did we have to leave so soon, just because they wouldn’t come in??
