Officers from Rugby Town North Team led by Sergeant Shaun Haywood visited the Benn Partnership Centre today.
Every two weeks, the Centre (working in conjunction with the County Council) hosts a drop-in session over Zoom for Syrian Refugee Families who have settled in Rugby.
The officers were invited to present information about the UK’s modern Police force, very different from the authorities in Syria who the families used to view as a force to fear.
PCSO Ghassan Nasser is a native Arabic speaker, and was able to assist the families with translation.
There was also a lively extended Q&A session afterwards, which the Syrian ladies in particular participated in.
Thanks very much to the Officers for giving so much of their time so willingly today.
