Help shape the future of the Benn Partnership Centre

The Benn Partnership Centre is a thriving community centre in the heart of Rugby, supporting local residents and promoting inclusion. The Centre offers practical help with benefits, ICT, and form-filling, alongside a welcoming Warm Hub and Community Café. We support refugee families and provide free community activities including Art, Fitness Classes, and a Work Club to improve employment opportunities. We receive food donations from local supermarkets each week, which are a lifeline to the community. We are looking for New Trustees to join our Board and help our existing trustees guide the charity.

What does a Trustee do?
Trustees are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity. This includes:

Helping set the vision and long-term goals of the community centre
Ensuring the charity is well-run, financially sound and compliant with charity law
Supporting and constructively challenging decisions to make sure we best serve our community

Who are we looking for?
You do not need to have been a Trustee before. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and ages, especially those who reflect the diversity of the Benn Ward. Skills or experience in areas such as finance, fundraising, HR, buildings, legal matters, marketing, or community engagement would be helpful – but enthusiasm and a commitment to our values are just as important.

What is involved?

Attendance at monthly board meetings (we hold some in the Centre and some on Zoom)
Occasional involvement in events
A commitment of roughly 1 or 2 hours per month

Trustee roles are voluntary, but reasonable expenses can be reimbursed.
